AI Agents
The template includes instructions so coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot…) follow the same conventions as you.
AGENTS.md
AGENTS.md, at the root of the app, is the shared instruction file read by most
agents. It describes:
- The stack and the role of each folder
- The commands to run, and that
npm run check:fixandnpm run typecheckmust pass before a task is done - The rules of the codebase: no Node.js in the renderer, every IPC call through tRPC with zod validation, every string translated, shadcn/ui and theme colors for UI, a changeset for user-facing changes
CLAUDE.md contains @AGENTS.md, which makes Claude Code load the same file.
Skills
Skills are step-by-step guides for common tasks, in .claude/skills/<name>/SKILL.md.
Claude Code loads a skill when the task matches its description; other agents can
be pointed to the folder.
| Skill | When it is used |
|---|---|
add-trpc-procedure | The renderer needs data or an action from the main process |
add-db-table | A table or column changes, with the migration |
add-route | A new page or URL parameter |
add-translation | New UI text, or a new language |
add-ui-component | New UI: shadcn/ui components, icons, images |
add-config-key | A new persisted setting |
release | Recording a change in the changelog, publishing a version |
Keep them up to date
These files are part of your code. When you change a convention (a new folder, a
new library, a different way to do something), update AGENTS.md and the
matching skill, or agents will keep following the old way. Add skills for the
tasks you repeat in your app.
